Will the Zagrodno Commune provide legal protection to its treasures?

While traveling around the immediate vicinity of our Temple of Art and Light, widely known as The Pearl (after all, Grodziec Castle is visible from our observation tower), Your Heritage’s reconnaissance team came across amazing entities guarding the outskirts of the castle. Two linden trees, one of which is truly gargantuan in size.

Although these ancient trees have lived through many human generations and seen many things, although they are extremely picturesque and could host hundreds of tourists at their roots, wanting to look at their centuries-old, powerful branches, from behind which emerges an extinct volcano topped with the sharp roofs of the Grodziec Castle, to date they have not are covered by legal protection. The older one is probably over 500 years old, with a circumference of almost 10 meters – this makes it one of the most impressive lime trees in Poland, a real record holder.

Implementing the assumptions of our natural heritage care program, we nominated both linden trees for the status of natural monuments. Next Wednesday will be exactly one year since the relevant letters were sent to the commune office. Although RDOŚ issued a positive opinion, indicating the advisability of providing them with legal protection, appropriate resolutions have not been adopted to date.

Will the councilors decide at the next session of the commune council to include these lime trees in the status of natural monuments, thus giving the entire commune and its visiting tourists a beautiful Christmas gift?

Keep fingers crossed!
