Eleven years ago, did anyone expect that the Pearl could still sound like this? That tiny Żeliszów will see a cultural arena of such class?
A spark was born a decade ago in the heart of Thinloth Korwin-Szymanowska, our Chairwoman of the Board of Founders, and the Your Heritage Foundation (Fundacja Twoje Dziedzictwo) began the process of transforming the ruined Pearl into a cultural arena. The management of the project was taken over by Wilk Korwin-Szymanowski, spokesman for Your Heritage. When the major structural renovation was completed in 2018, the outstanding opera singer Eleni Triada Ioannidou joined the team with her association Ars Augusta e.V. and high hopes for the emerging pearl scene. It was then that the Pearl began to take her first steps towards the opera and philharmonic. And to the name of the Temple of Art and Light.
Yesterday, as part of the celebration of the tenth anniversary of taking care of the Pearl by the Your Heritage Foundation, in cooperation with Ars Augusta and, for the first time, with the Kulturní Morava association, the Pearl once again proved itself to be a mature Temple of Art and Light – a multifunctional cultural arena, hosting an extraordinary spectacle, which was the oratorio “Il Davide” by Karl Ditters von Dittersdorf, directed by the talented director Rocc.
Five outstanding soloists: David: Doubravka Součková (soprano), Saul, King of Israel: Aco Bišćević (tenor), Jonatan, son of Saul: Helena Hozová (soprano), Abner, chieftain: Jiří Miroslav Procházka (bass), Eliab, Davids brother: Aneta Petrasová (alto), accompanied by the choir and orchestra “Volantes Orchestra”, conducted by Marek Čermák, treated the audience to a real feast for the ears and eyes.
Who of you, dear audience, expected this a dozen or so years ago?
