This month marks exactly 10 years since the Your Heritage Foundation took over the care of the Temple of Art and Light: the Pearl. On this occasion, on July 13 at 18:00, we invite you to the show “Action Medea”, which is a part of the celebration of the pearly decade. 
In the next posts we will mention some important people and events on the way from an abandoned, ruined Lutheran church to a multifunctional cultural arena.
At the end of 2012, the then young “Your Heritage” Foundation, dealt with the lion’s share of its activity with artistic events and minor soft projects, slowly looking for a monument that requires its care. A small team of enthusiasts from Warsaw, however, had no plans to set off towards Lower Silesia – this beautiful region, full of monuments, on the one hand attracted thoughts and hearts, but on the other hand, a rational approach made them pay attention to the considerable distance.
Paying attention to the distance ended when, while working on another event in Mazovia, Thinloth Korwin-Szymanowska – the founder and artistic soul of the Foundation, came across information that the building known from “The Chapel” by Patryk Kizny is still falling into disrepair and is looking for a function that could restore it to life. This news ignited a spark in Thinloth’s heart. A spark that easily infected the core of the Foundation’s team, which already included the spokesman for Your Heritage – Wilk Korwin-Szymanowski, with a storm of ideas. Brainstorming to find the best directions of potential development for the building, first contact with the owner, and finally reconnaissance in the field.
The first inspection of the place took away the words and put the thoughts into an incredible rush. Although the roof was nearly collapsing, future scenarios were drawn in the eyes of our two-person reconnaissance team: concerts, theatre performances, sporting events, fashion shows, photo shoots, movies…
Today, a building that seemed to be ending its life a decade ago is flourishing as the Temple of Art and Light: The Pearl! Since the completion of a major renovation in 2018, it has hosted classical, jazz, opera and folk concerts, countless photos were taken during events, films and series were shot, music videos, Red Bull Bike cyclists performed acrobatics under the vault, and an extraordinary theatrical performance will soon take place. The Pearl is a dream that has been forged into reality. 
Throughout all this time, the soul of the Foundation and the Pearl was and still is the originator of the Pearl reconstruction project, the chairwoman of the Founders Council – Thinloth Korwin-Szymanowska, and her support in turning ideas into action – Wilk Korwin Szymanowski – strategic manager and spokesperson of the Foundation. It all started with these two.
