From ruin to multifunctional cultural arena.

2012 – 2013

By decision of the Chairwoman of the Board of Founders of the Your Heritage Foundation (Fundacja Twoje Dziedzictwo), Engineer Thinloth Korwin-Szymanowska, in November 2012, the building was included in the “Pearl” project, aimed at promoting it and raising funds for its reconstruction. In agreement with the Bolesławiec Rural Commune, the Your Heritage Foundation became the owner of the ruined building in July 2013, assuming full formal responsibility for its future.

2014-2018

The major renovation of the main space of the Temple of Art and Light: The Pearl was completed thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland and the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, based on a design prepared by Juliusz Leonard Marcinowski, M.Sc., Architect. It included: a complete renovation of the roof structure, replacement of the roof covering, fastening the walls with a ring beam, a complete renovation of the vaulted ceiling structure with plaster restoration, restoration of the lightning protection system, guttering, reconstruction and the addition and conservation of the existing of the missing building support structure, structural stabilisation of the building, and the restoration of the structure of the galleries.

Od 2018 – start of cultural life in the Temple.

2018-2025

The first and second stages of the reconstruction of the tower floors, including the restoration of the window joinery and the reconstruction of the Honorary Lodge, were completed between 2018 and 2020. These works were financed by the “Deutsch-Polnische Stiftung Kulturpflege und Denkmalschutz” from Görlitz, with the participation of funds from the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as the “Erika Simon” Foundation and the “Senta Weygandt” Foundation from Görlitz.

Thanks to the support of the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in the period 2019-2025, further conservation and reconstruction works were carried out, including: window joinery in the main building, reconstruction and supplementation of the wooden staircases towards the galleries, conservation and supplementation of the sandstone on the ground floor of the tower, partial reconstruction and supplementation of the sandstone on the ground floor of the main building, reconstruction of the door joinery around the main gate of the tower along with the fanlight and the cemetery gate.

Thanks to the support of the “Preußisches Kulturerbe” foundation and the Ars Augusta e.V. association, in 2021-2022 it was possible to restore the floors in the galleries and support the reconstruction of the sandstone floor on the ground floor.

In 2024, thanks to the efforts of Tadeusz Łasica, one of the internal sandstone portals was restored.

In 2025, the “Deutsch-Polnische Stiftung Kulturpflege und Denkmalschutz” from Görlitz and the “Erika Simon” foundation supported the reconstruction of the door joinery, joining the scope financed by the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. Thanks to the combination of these funds, it was possible to reconstruct the two missing doors: the gate and the northern one, the internal doors, and to carry out the work on the sandstone necessary to complete the scope.
