Summer Meetings ’26: “Forefathers’ Eve part 2” and Slavic exhibitions!

The main theme of the 2026 Summer Meetings is the presidential project “National Reading”, during which we will delve into reading “Forefathers’ Eve” by Adam Mickiewicz.

However, literature alone will not create the atmosphere of the Pearl Meeting! Together, we will delve into folklore, early music, rituals, and contemporary visions of ancient beliefs. Below is the event program:

14⁰⁰: Erinthul exhibition entitled “Guardians of the Borderland,” photography inspired by Slavic demonology.

Erinthul is the artistic pseudonym of Anna Rytka – a photographer, model, and enthusiast of Slavic culture, who creates photographs inspired by ancient Slavic beliefs and demonology. In her work, she combines photography with digital processing, interpreting tradition in a modern way. The Erinthul project is a space for presenting photographs – images inspired by Slavic legends and ancient beliefs, which popularize Slavic culture among international audiences.

Slovisha – an exhibition of kraboszki, i.e. masks appearing in All Souls’ Day rites in the religion of the ancient Slavs, which disappeared in church rituals as late as the 14th century.

5:00 PM The highlight of the program is the National Reading of “Forefathers’ Eve Part 2,” an event under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland. We will have the opportunity to read together a text that combines pagan and Christian rituals in the melodic poetry of Adam Mickiewicz.

20⁰⁰: Slovisha (Sebastian Cielecki), live early music. Slovisha is a luthier and musician specializing in the construction of historical musical instruments, with a particular emphasis on those from the early Middle Ages. He has been self-taught in luthier craftsmanship for 10 years, developing his skills through practice, passion, and the exploration of ancient techniques. His work combines craftsmanship with music, contributing to the re-creation and revitalization of the sounds of bygone eras.
While listening to early music, you will have the opportunity to participate in a nighttime tour of the Pearl.

The event is partnered by the Municipal Center for Culture, Sports, and Recreation in Węgliniec, and the patronage of the Presidential Couple covers the National Reading 2026.
