“Secrets of the Monastery,” our contribution to the 2026 Night of Museums 
Similarly to the other site managed by the Fundacja Twoje Dziedzictwo (Your Heritage Foundation) – Świątynia Sztuki i Światła: Perła (the Temple of Art and Light: the Pearl), all groups visiting the fortified monastery in Nowogrodziec on the night of May 16th were larger than initially planned. But like the Pearl, the Monastery doesn’t turn away those who want to hear the stories whispered through its ancient walls.
This story was told by our historian and archivist from the Your Heritage Club, Darek Gołębiewski. However, as he himself wrote after the event – ”when you walk there after dark at the head of a group of visitors, you get the impression that History itself is speaking, and the guide serves only as a kind of medium”. One could say, therefore, that he merely lent a voice to the Monastery, which revealed to visitors several mysterious, terrifying, or even extraordinary events from its eight-hundred-year history.
