2025 is behind us!

The year 2025 is drawing to a close. So much has happened!

The Temple of Art and Light: The Pearl now has a complete set of doors! This is thanks to the ongoing support provided by the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, and additional funds donated this year by our friends from Germany: the Erika Simon Stiftung and the Deutsch-Polnische Stiftung Kulturpflege und Denkmalschutz. Through our own efforts, we managed to make some conservation works with the windows in the main building.

The area surrounding the Pearl is also changing – both the cemetery and the park have undergone numerous renovations. Plantings in the park area and around the Pearl, more than a dozen tombstones have been excavated in the cemetery, and paths and alleys are being created. You’ll see how beautiful it will be! 😊

This Pearl Cultural Season was so active! It opened with the group exhibition “Feminine Energy,” and that was only the beginning! The extraordinary paintings and photographs on display this season in the Pearl, the incredible performances by young artists from the Polish National Youth Choir, a fashion show with live music, classical music concerts, including two grand piano recitals as part of the Chopin en Vacances festival… which also took place in our Monastery! 🤩

Yes! This year, in addition to: trips organised as our addition to events held by the City of Nowogrodziec: “Nowogrodziec Days” and “Day of the City’s Patron Saint”; meetings of the Your Heritage Club – for example, for our “Flag Days”, the Monastery also hosted its first full-fledged piano concert in its modern history. And what a performance! Two participants in this year’s Chopin competition, including Yehuda Prokopowicz, winner of the award for best mazurka performance, played on a Steinway-D piano!

Our partners: the Municipality and City of Nowogrodziec and the Municipality of Bolesławiec, supported us in organising the Chopin concerts at the Monastery and in the Pearl, for which we wholeheartedly thank you! 💛

Thanks to the ongoing support of internet users, our “Your Heritage” Club, and a grant from the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Conservator of Monuments, we managed to complete the next phase of construction at our beautiful monastery. 😀

As if all this wasn’t enough, the Pearl once again became the place where lovers said “I do”, formalizing their relationship in front of a civil registry office clerk in Bolesławiec. The Pearl twice became the venue for the incredible Grupa13 team (which resulted in, among other things, a beautiful music video by Raphael Weinroth-Browne), and even hosted Jan Holoubek’s new film project, “Wild, Wild East,” which you’ll be able to see in the first half of 2027 (or even sooner!).

Has anything else been accomplished this year? As part of our program for preserving natural heritage, a new natural monument was established in Wrocław, as we reported in early January. And at the end of the year, we have great news regarding our “Project: Platon” scholarship recipients! Three of them were selected to the national B team for the 2026 season, and one of them, Anna Baworowska, finished the 2025 season with both a collection of sports medals and excellent academic results, becoming our top scholarship recipient of 2025. Congratulations to our scholarship recipients and their coaches from the Żary Running Academy. 💪🏻

It was a blast! And all this under the watchful eye of our founder and the driving force behind the Foundation, Thinloth Korwin-Szymanowska.

Thank you for being with us, and we invite you to continue working together in 2026! 🥳
