14.06.2025 – recital “Stories from near and far”

On June 14, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. we invite you to the Temple of Art and Light for the recital “Stories from Near and Far” performed by talented musicians: Jan-Henrik Witkowski (bas) and Doriana Tchakarova (pianoforte).

The program, divided into two parts, will include songs and arias by composers such as Carl Loewe, Franz Schubert, Adolf Jensen, W.A. Mozart, Vincenzo Bellini and Stanisław Moniuszko.

The concert will be preceded by a photography exhibition “True Portrait”, available from 11:00.

The event is financed entirely from our own funds. If possible, we encourage you to donate to support cultural life in the Perła. To achieve the balance of the event, tickets should cost 70 PLN.

BIO:
The German-Polish bas Jan-Henrik Witkowski received his first musical education in the boys’ choir of the Collegium Iuvenum in Stuttgart.

Since October 2022, he has been studying voice with Prof. Teru Yoshihara at the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart. Margreet Honig has also made a significant contribution to his work.

Jan-Henrik Witkowski can be regularly found as a soloist in Stuttgart and the region. His current repertoire includes the bass parts of Mozart’s Requiem and Fauré’s Requiem. In December 2023, he performed as bass in a chamber version of Handel’s “Messiah” with the Violini Capricciosi in the Netherlands.

Doriana Tchakarova was born in Varna, Bulgaria. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s studies in piano at the Stuttgart University of Music under the supervision of Prof. Fernande Kaeser and Prof. Friedemann Rieger, and then studied singing with Prof. Konrad Richter. In the same year she played Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto with the Varna Philharmonic Orchestra.

Since October 2003 she has been teaching singing accompaniment at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart. In addition, Doriana Tchakarova has a busy international concert schedule as a chamber musician and song pianist.

She is a highly regarded pianist at numerous singing master classes and international singing competitions. The CDs with sopranos Judith Erb and Felicitas Erb with songs and duets by Robert Schumann, Hugo Kaun (world premiere recordings) and Louis Spohr on the ARS-Produktion label have met with great interest from the specialist press. Another CD with duets by Felix Mendelssohn and Fanny Hensel, released by ARS in 2016, was enthusiastically received throughout Europe and was nominated for, among others, the for the Echo Award in 2017.

In May 2018, she won the first prize in the vocal duet category at the international music competition “Rising Stars Grand Prix” in Berlin together with Konstantin Krimmel. Doriana Tchakarova performs as a lieder pianist on important concert stages in Berlin, Vienna, Barcelona, ​​Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Hanover, Heidelberg, Freiburg, Lugano and many others.

In 2019, the renowned label Alpha Classics released a CD with Konstantin Krimmel, which includes ballads by Schubert, Loewe, Schumann and Jensen. This recording was nominated for the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) and Opus Klassik, and also received the Diapason découverte award.
