The Temple of Art and Light 2025

At the end of 2012, we started the “Pearl of Żeliszów” project, which aimed to save the unique, ruined Evangelical church from collapse, made famous by Patryk Kizny’s short “The Chapel” and urbex photographers. Saving the building was not only aimed at structural rescue (it was realized in the years 2014-2018), but also at giving the Pearl a new cultural life. And so from the ruins of the abandoned Lutheran church, a multifunctional cultural arena was born – the Temple of Art and Light. 🙂

Recent years have brought further progress in the scope of supplementing and restoring destroyed elements, and furnishing its interior. Thanks to this, the cultural offer of the building is expanding, and we make every effort to make our events available to everyone, whenever possible – free of charge. ☺️

However, a new time in the life of the building also means new challenges. It is time for the stage of works announced at the end of last year, which will include the initial development of the area around the Temple. Convenient parking lots, park alleys, plantings of native trees and flowers, small architecture… All this will allow for an even more enjoyable participation in the cultural life of the Pearl. It will also enrich Żeliszów with a beautiful, well-kept space that should delight not only people, but also bees and birds. 🙂

The plans are ambitious, but since 2025 has just begun, we can follow the custom of New Year’s resolutions and say: new year – new space around the Pearl! 🥰
