Thieves in the Monastery

Today, a post was planned about the progress of the construction of the walls and vaults of our beautiful monastery, about the progress of the design and plans for the coming months. But this post will appear tomorrow, because today we have to write about an unpleasant event.

On the night from Friday to Saturday, the construction site was robbed. The frames of the Warsaw scaffolding, belonging to the construction team, were missing. Not everything was missing, because the thieves got scared – they were seen by bystanders. This is not petty theft, sooner or later the thieves will pay for their actions unworthy of a civilised man. Although it would be faster if the people who saw the frames leaving the monastery in the middle of the night on the backs of thieves reacted and immediately notified the Foundation – phone +48 690 690 550, or preferably the uniformed services – phone 112.

The monastery did not rob and does not rob itself. Scribbles on the walls do not bloom by themselves. Garbage of all types, especially alcoholic beverages, does not fall into our Monastery with the rain.

Joanna Świder Mayor of Nowogrodziec, the Municipality and City of Nowogrodziec and Nowogrodziec – news now encourage you to vote for Nowogrodziec in the competition for a place that you must visit. It is true, we have a beautiful city – let’s take care of it together. For the old town, for the Monastery, Muza, the remains of the clinker and for each other. If you witness theft or devastation – react! This is our common space, we have to take care of it together. So that the future will be beautiful for Nowogrodziec and all its residents.

And we warn burglars that due to the amount of losses, from now on any unauthorised entry into the area of the works will be treated as a break-in on the construction site and reported to the police, and photo traps will be placed in the Monastery. The Monastery is being built from ruins for residents, but also for people of high culture from all over Poland and beyond. The uniformed services provide a cosy place for vandals and thieves.
